Six months ago Montanans rejected Gianforte, and he has not improved since. He looks sharp and sounds slick, but most of us know enough to distrust a politician like that. While he was telling us he would not have voted for the disastrous healthcare bill that Republicans just passed, he was telling the DC lobbyists, “sounds like we just passed a health care thing, which I’m thankful for, sounds like we’re starting to repeal and replace.”

142,000 Montanans could lose health insurance under this bill for which Gianforte is so thankful. Perhaps he is grateful because it gives the richest 1 percent, including himself, a $600 billion tax cut while cutting funding for the disabled and veterans, allowing insurers to charge exorbitant rates for pre-existing conditions, raising prices for seniors, and eliminating rules to cover basic services such as maternity and mental health. If you are over 26, if you’ve ever had a medical condition, if you are a veteran, if your child has a disability, if you make less than $100,000 ….go to your county election office NOW and vote for Rob Quist. This is not the last time that Congress will hold your life in the balance.
