Retired FBI agent and Helena resident Tom McDaniel will be featured on the CNN show "Declassified" Saturday evening, talking about his and the bureau’s work in taking down a terrorist group called The Order.

McDaniel worked as an FBI agent in Helena from 1985 to 1996 in a number of areas including bank robbery, narcotics and terrorism. He was among the team that arrested Unabomber Ted Kaczynski at his home in Lincoln.

McDaniel describes The Order as a composite of white supremacist groups, including the Aryan Nation, Ku Klux Klan and National Alliance with a general goal of making the northwest U.S. white only. To finance the operation, McDaniel says they began robbing banks and counterfeiting and leading all the way up to murder.

As members of The Order made bigger plans, such as blowing up dams in Washington and truck bombing FBI buildings, the FBI was able to arrest them before the plots were carried out.

McDaniel will be one of four agents featured on Declassified, which airs at 7 p.m. Saturday on CNN.
