Winter storms dump snow on the Capital city

A Helena snowplow driver clears Sixth Avenue in front of the state Capitol on Friday morning. With about 6 inches of snow already on the ground, Helena had received about 4-5 inches of new snow as of Friday afternoon, prompting the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office to encourage "essential travel only" on roads throughout the county. The National Weather Service forecast another 3-7 inches of snow Friday night and up to 2 inches more on Saturday. Helena will remain under a Winter Storm Warning until 5 p.m. Saturday.
