Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton is out of the hospital and back home in Helena after suffering a heart attack.
The medical incident occurred Tuesday afternoon while Dutton was traveling to Miles City with two deputies. He received a stent at the hospital in Bozeman to clear a blockage near his heart.
"Thankfully the doctor did not find anything of seriousness or significance in the functionality of my heart," Dutton wrote in a tweet.
Undersheriff Jason Grimmis said Dutton is now working to build strength and would be out for “at least a week and a half" but coming back on light duty afterward.
"I'm getting better every day, not just with the help of the doctors but with the prayers and kind thoughts of everyone who has supported me," the sheriff wrote on Twitter.
