Kathleen Pearl Westby, 93, Denver, Colorado died April 4th, 2018 of natural causes. She was born February 11, 1925 in Springbrook, North Dakota; the daughter of Christos and Ida Drogitis. She married Alvin M. Westby, December 10, 1952 and lived in Helena, Montana. After her husband’s death on November 21, 2000 she moved to Denver, Colorado and lived with her daughter Marcella Picard until March of 2016. In March of 2016, she moved to Aspen Care Center in Denver, Colorado and resided there until her death.
Kathleen worked taking children into their home, being as a Nurse’s Aide, and being a homemaker. She always enjoyed life by doing crafts, and building projects as she took after her Father in that way. She loved gardening, which came from learning and having a “green thumb” like her Dad. She always had a smile and a laugh that warmed everyone’s hearts and kept her whole family smiling. We will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her two sisters: Lorraine Darlow of Stevensville, Montana and Belle M. Chaffin (Dolly) of Everett, Washington. Kathleen had four children: twin daughters, Marcella Picard of Denver, Colorado and Margaret Edland of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Jeanne Greene of Anaconda, Montana; and son Alvin W. Westby of Denver, Colorado. From those children, she had 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Mom will take place April 21, 2018 at her daughter Marcella’s home. Thank you to all the caregivers of Aspen Care Center for their kindness to our Mom.
