Feb. 27, 1964-June 30, 2017
Robert Todd Teegarden, dedicated father and husband, beloved son and brother, passed away on June 30, 2017. He was born on February 27, 1964 in Red Lodge, Montana and raised in Billings by his parents, Thomas and Donna (Dell) Teegarden. Todd always loved sports and the outdoors, especially fishing and baseball. He shared his passion for these things with his wife and children and with his younger brother, Travis.
Todd graduated from Billings West High School in 1982 and excelled in multiple sports; he played four years for the Billings Scarlets American Legion baseball team that won State Championships in 1979 and 1982 on the team that finished 49-3. Todd's baseball talent earned him a scholarship to the University of Wyoming, where he was a 4-year starter in the middle infield, and earned 3 Western Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete awards.
Todd graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from UW and after short stints in the private sector, working for HKM Engineering in Billings, MT and Crazan Engineering in California, Todd began a career with the State of Montana Department of Environmental Quality, where he was currently employed at the time of his death.
Todd married Amy Rose Pfaff on June 29, 1991 and began a family as they migrated to Helena, MT. They have three talented children, Justin Todd Teegarden, Tatum Rose Teegarden and Logan David Teegarden.
Todd carried the heavy burdens of life with courage, dedication and integrity.
Todd is survived by his parents, his wife, Amy, their three children, Justin (Morgan), Tatum and Logan, and siblings Teresa Ann Lynch (Pat), Thomas Dell Teegarden (Kathy) and Travis Paul Teegarden (Stephanie).
Todd was supported throughout his career by dedicated professionals at the State of Montana Department of Environmental Quality and by an incredible number of great friends and teammates from the Scarlets, West High Bears, and UW Cowboys. He also had many cherished friends from the Forest Service family and Montana City community. Each one of you know who you are and how special you were to Todd.
