Patricia ‘Pat’ Chapman Wood passed away from natural causes in the early morning hours of August 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Pat was born Patricia Edna Chapman on November 24, 1924 to William and Ruth Chapman in Anaconda, Montana. She attended school there, then went on to Montana State College (MSU) and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, she moved to Helena, Montana and worked for the state until she met Paul Warren Wood, they were married on October 19, 1955. She then became a mother and homemaker, and being a rancher’s wife, she became a jack of all trades.
Pat loved gardening and later in life gave up the hard work of vegetables to grow beautiful flowers in a well-kept garden that she very much enjoyed.
We cannot sum her up in a few paragraphs, but we will always remember her, and dearly miss her.
Pat is survived by her husband Paul Warren Wood; sons Douglas and David (Catherine); nieces Ann Stradley (Roger) and Jean Chalmers; nephew David Chalmers; great nieces Anna and Lora Stradley; and “the daughter she never had” Karen Doig.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Harrison. Please visit www.aswfuneralhome.com to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Pat.
