Lucille Y. Faltermeyer passed away November 15, 2017 at the age of 95. Lucille was the oldest of four Children born, May 17, 1922, to Edward and Delia (Sauvageau) Pronovost in Belfield, N.D. Mom shared many memories of helping her dad milk cows on the farm and recollected if she “had a nickel for every time she milked a cow she’d be rich.”
After graduating from Belfield High School in1940 as the class valedictorian. Mom studied at The State School of Science before enlisting in the US Navy. She was proud to serve as a W.A.V.E and was stationed between New York and Washington DC.
She married Robert Faltermeyer on August 28, 1946. They moved to Helena to start and raise a family, there daughter Rose Marie and Son Robert Jr. made their family complete. Mom was a devote Catholic and could be found at Saturday evening Mass at the Cathedral. When she was not attending Mass, she was praying with her rosary. She took a lot of pride in her career with the V.A. at Fort Harrison. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling, quilting, and spending time with her family, friends and beloved cats. She enjoyed gambling, especially her trips to Jackpot NV.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Rose Marie Heerwald, of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law, Shirley Heney (Robert) O'Dell, OR; daughter, Rose Marie Wood, of Helena; and son, Robert (Susan) Faltermeyer Jr, of Spokane, WA; grandchildren: Kevin (Alyssa) Wood of Helena, Angela (Randy) Okray, of Gillette, WY, Bo Faltermeyer, of Spokane, WA, Brody Faltermeyer, of Portland, OR; and great granddaughter, Kendra Jensen, of Gillette, WY. She joins in eternal life her husband, Robert; sister, Toni; brother, Jerry; and son-in-law, Bill Wood.

A service celebrating Lucille’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1st at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A coffee and cookie reception will follow the service in the social hall of the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow the reception at Resurrection Cemetery.
