Helena police cited two teenage boys Monday for an Internet-inspired prank involving spilling milk in a grocery store.
Police believe a 14-year-old and 15-year-old somehow sprayed chocolate milk on glass cooler doors at Albertsons on North Montana Avenue last Friday night.
It may have been a local example of “gallon smashing,” an Internet phenomenon in which people shoot video of their friends in stores tripping and falling and hurling gallon jugs of milk or juice to the floor.
“They said they saw it on a YouTube video,” Helena Police Chief Troy McGee said of the pair.
He said police are still looking into a possibly related egg-throwing incident.
