Carroll College running back Chance Demarais broke a school record for rushing in a career with 4,474 yards, coach Mike Van Diest became the winningest coach in Saints history with his 164th career victory, and the purple and gold made it a senior day to remember Saturday at Nelson Stadium.
The Saints topped Dickinson State 36-0 on a frigid day in Helena, their first shutout of the season. Demarais closed his career with a 219-yard performance and was the workhorse all day, finishing with 42 of his team's 56 carries.
Carroll closes out the year with a 7-4 overall mark, going 7-3 in the Frontier Conference. The Saints will miss the postseason for the first time since 2000.
