A 27-year-old Helena man is facing a felony charge of assault with a weapon for pointing a BB gun resembling a large-caliber semi-automatic handgun at a man after a fight in East Helena.
Jonathan Davis Arlint is accused of following a man who got in a bar fight with his friend and brandishing the Daisy black and chrome BB gun, which the victim thought was a real handgun, according to documents filed in Justice Court Monday.
Law enforcement officers were called by the victim at about 3 a.m. Saturday morning from the intersection of York Road and Wylie Drive. The caller then met with a deputy and explained that he had been drinking and dancing at a bar in East Helena and got into a physical altercation with a friend of Arlint, who was subsequently kicked out of the bar.
The friend and Arlint later saw the victim at a gas station. From there, the victim began following Arlint’s friend, with Arlint following them both.
Arlint is accused of helping box in the vehicle in which the victim was a passenger and brandishing the weapon. He is being held in the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center on $25,000 bond and a probation violation.
