The 15-member Private Land/Public Wildlife Council will meet Dec. 8-9 in Helena to discuss hunting and fishing access, as well as other issues regarding wild animals and private property.
The council is made up of landowners, outfitters, hunters, anglers, legislators and a Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission member. They’re appointed by the governor and charged with reviewing FWP hunting and fishing access programs, offering recommendations to achive program goals, and addressing issues related to private lands and wildlife.
The meeting starts at 1 p.m. Dec. 8, and will continue from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 9, at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel, 2301 Colonial Drive, in Helena. Council members will adopt operating rules, determine their priorities and discuss issues.
The public is invited to attend the meeting, and will be allowed to comment on issues beginning at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 8.
