RMDC offers extra food for seniors

Rocky Mountain Development Council will have supplemental food available to Helena-area senior citizens this week.

The food will be available at Helena Food Share, 1616 Lewis. There is no charge for the products.

Eligible seniors whose last name begins with the following initials may pick up the food on the corresponding date:

- M-Z, Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 8:30-11:00 a.m

- A-L, Thursday, Nov. 19, from 8:30-11 a.m.

On Friday, Nov. 20, from 8:30-11 a.m. there will be distribution for those who have not taken part in the program before. Those who can’t pick up their food on their assigned day should call Helena Food Share.

Foods distributed include canned fruit, vegetables, meats, juice, cereals, dry milk, evaporated milk, cheese and peanut butter.

Persons 60 years and older will be certified to receive the food by income, and state residency status. For further information or questions call RMDC at 447-1680 or Food Share at 443-3663.
