A house fire Monday night caused about $30,000 worth of damage, but injured no one.

The fire started at about 6:40 p.m. at 2042 Gold Rush Avenue. The flames were contained to the attic of a single-family residence, according to Helena Fire Marshal Craig Trapp. The fire damaged a small portion of the attic above the master bedroom and two adjacent bathrooms.

Trapp said firefighters had the fire under control within minutes of their arrival and quickly began the salvage and overhaul process.

The cause of the fire was an electrical problem in the ceiling of the master bedroom.
