All three incumbents were re-elected Tuesday to serve on the East Helena Public School Board of Trustees for another three-year term, according to unofficial results.
The final count has incumbents Anne Marie Thompson with 1,758 votes, Mark Diehl with 1,718 and Breck Scheet with 1,416. The incumbents ran against Dawn Kramer, who received 1,305 votes.
All four candidates endorsed the $12 million school bond, which is set to pass based on preliminary results.
Thompson has served on the board for 15 years and raised two children in the district. Thompson has a degree in elementary education and works at AAA.
Diehl, a rancher, graduated from Helena High School in 1974 and has been a resident in the East Helena district his whole life. In a candidate survey, Diehl said the school board values the trust of taxpayers and doesn't want to disappoint them.
Scheet is a Senior Human Resources Analyst at the Montana State Fund. Scheet has one daughter at East Valley Middle School and two daughters who have moved through the district to Helena High School. Scheet has served on the school board since 2008 and said he understands the school system’s needs.
