A 37-year-old man is accused of driving his truck in the wrong lane and running it into a ditch along Highway 12.
Lamar Schrock is being charged with criminal endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A deputy noticed a fast-moving vehicle fail to negotiate a turn and drive into a ditch Monday along Highway 12 near Crossroads Parkway. The deputy watched as the driver continued to operate the truck but was unable to move it, according to court documents.
The deputy made contact with the driver, Schrock, who said he consumed three beers in the hour before the incident, according to court documents. Schrock’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot, according to court documents.
A woman who was driving on Highway 12 just before Schrock went off the road told a deputy she had almost crashed into a guardrail because Schrock was driving on the wrong side of the road and had nearly hit her, according to court documents.
