Two Helena men are accused of attempting to break into a casino.
Jory Jerae Songer, 18, and Bruce A. Lewis Jr., 19, are being charged with attempted burglary. Songer is also being charged with obstructing a peace officer, and Lewis is being charged with possession of burglary tools.
Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Prospect Avenue Monday for a report of three individuals prying on the back doors of a business. Lewis was detained while Songer attempted to run from police, according to court documents. Songer allegedly gave the officer a false name as well.
When police searched Lewis, they found a blue mini crowbar that matched the color of paint left on the back of the business door, according to court documents.
As Songer was running away from police, he discarded a multi-tool that officers later found, according to court documents. The multi-tool had a broken file on it that matched a piece left behind at the business.
