Feb. 6

  • At 3:44 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 10 block of E. 16th Avenue for a report of an intoxicated male knocking on a door. The male was located and transported to St. Peter’s Hospital.
  • At 08:15 a.m. an officer responded to the 2400 block of Broadway for a report of a disorderly male. No criminal charges were pursued.
  • At 8:33 a.m. an officer responded to the 2700 block of Prospect for a report of an adult female shoplifter being detained. When the officer arrived, he identified the 49-year-old Townsend woman and cited her for theft. She was referred to Municipal Court. 
  • At 10:13 a.m. an officer responded to the 10 block of E. 5th Avenue for a report of a male at that location with a valid warrant for his arrest.  The 35-year-old Helena area male was identified and arrested for the warrant. He was booked into the LCSO jail. 
  • At 10:56 a.m. an officer responded to the 800 block of Colleen Street for a report of a male violating terms of his probation. The 24-year-old Helena area man was arrested for a probation violation warrant and booked into the LCSO jail.   
  • At 2:53 p.m. an officer responded to the 800 block of North Cooke for a report of a family disturbance. Nothing criminal was reported.
  • At 4:17 p.m. an officer was dispatched the 2800 block of National for a report of a domestic disturbance. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 27-year-old Helena man was arrested for partner/family member assault, strangulation (felony), and obstructing a police officer. He was booked into the LCSO jail.      
  • At 4:25 p.m. an officer responded to the 1700 block of Sanders for a report of a theft of property.   
  • At 4:32 p.m. an officer responded to the 1100 block of Leslie for a report of a male at that location with a valid out-of-state warrant. The 62-year-old Helena man was located and arrested for the warrant. He was booked into the LCSO jail. 
  • At 9:34 p.m. officers responded to the 1400 block of Knight for a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been in the alley for approximately an hour. When the officer arrived, he was able to identify the male and learned the vehicle was stuck in the alley; the male driver was demonstrating signs of impairment. After obtaining information from the driver, the male exited the vehicle and began fleeing from the officer. The officer caught the male who resisted arrest.  The male was eventually taken into custody and tested for DUI.  At the conclusion of the incident, the 47-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI, obstructing a police officer, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the LCSO jail.   
  • At 10:44 p.m. an officer responded to the 400 block of S. Park for a report of an assault that had occurred. It was reported the suspect left the scene. The female suspect was later located and arrested for partner/family member assault. She was booked into the LCSO jail.
  • At 10:04 p.m. an officer responded to the 800 block of Sonoma for a report of a domestic disturbance. It was discovered there was nothing criminal that occurred.

As of Wednesday morning, the county jail held 97 inmates (85 for felonies and 12 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 114 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 35 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 26 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Eighty-five clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. We also have six testing out of county, one is pre-trial, five are GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet) and 12 are on house arrest.
