  • At 1:50 p.m. an officer took a report of credit card fraud from the 300 block of Janet Street.
  • At 1:52 p.m.  an officer took a report of a burglary that occurred in the 1000 block of Ewing Street.
  • At 3:48 p.m. an officer took a report of a motor vehicle theft that was parked in the 400 block of Raleigh Street. The vehicle taken was described as a 1989 white Dodge Dynasty with Montana license plate #143329A.
  • At 3:54 p.m.  an officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Logan Street for a report of a disturbance. Investigation into the matter led to no charges being filed.
  • At 4:01 p.m. an officer took a report of a found bicycle from the 1300 block of Lyndale Avenue.
  • At 4:57 p.m. an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1800 block of 11th Avenue for a report of a possible counterfeit bill. This case is active.
  • At 5:41 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the area of Sanders Street and Cole Avenue for a report of a possible intoxicated driver that had crashed their motorcycle. The complainant said the driver of the motorcycle crashed and then picked the motorcycle up and then started pushing it down the street. The officer was able to locate the driver of the motorcycle in the area. Investigation into the matter led to a 48-year-old male being placed under arrest for felony DUI (fourth offense) and aggravated DUI. He was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 8:43 p.m.  an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Rodney Street for a report of a disturbance. Investigation into the matter led to a 25-year-old male being placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant out of Helena District Court. He was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 8:57 p.m.  an officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Waukesha Avenue for a report of an assault. Investigation into the matter led to the case being forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.

May 15

  • At 12:08 p.m. an officer was on patrol in the area of N. Cooke Street and Chestnut. The officer observed a vehicle in this area with an equipment violation and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation into the matter led to a 26-year-old male being placed under arrest for DUI (second offense) and aggravated DUI. He was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 12:11 p.m. an officer was on patrol in the 2800 block of N. Montana Avenue. The officer observed a vehicle in this area with an equipment violation and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation into the matter led to a 32-year-old male being placed under arrest for DUI (first offense).  He was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 7:55 p.m. an officer took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle that was parked in the 3000 block of Villard Avenue.

As of Tuesday morning, the county jail held 95 inmates (87 for felonies and eight for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 112 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 43 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 32 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Ninety-one clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. We also have three testing out of county, one is pre-trial, three are GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet) and nine are on house arrest.
