  • At 12:44 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of Prospect Avenue for a report of an altercation between a male and female. Officers arrived and located the couple. It was discovered the male was in violation of a no-contact order. Further, the male demonstrated signs of impairment; a DUI investigation was conducted. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 32-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI and violation of a no-contact order. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
  • At 1:30 p.m., an officer responded to the 1500 block of Phoenix Road for a report of a theft. It was reported a large section of air hose was stolen from a construction site.
  • At 1:57 p.m., an officer responded to the 3100 block of North Montana Avenue for a report of a cold shoplift. Surveillance footage was captured and the case is active.
  • At 3:32 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Rodney Street for a trespass situation. No criminal charges were pursued.
  • At 3:54 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of North Montana Avenue for a report of a theft of personal property. The case is active.
  • At 5:48 p.m., an officer was dispatched the 800 block of North Cooke Street for a report of a male inhaling aerosols. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 26-year-old Helena man was cited for possession of a toxic substance. He was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 9:26 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of Prospect Avenue for a report of a male trespassing at that location. The 39-year-old Helena area man was located and cited for trespassing. He was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 10:17 p.m., an officer responded to the 2400 block of Broadway for a report of a disorderly male who had assaulted a health care worker and damaged property. The 39-year-old Helena man was located and eventually arrested for assault and criminal mischief. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
  • At 10:48 p.m., an officer responded to the 1100 block of Billings Avenue for a possible assault and family disturbance. The case is active.

As of Monday morning, the county jail held 92 inmates (82 for felonies and 10 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 114 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 35 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 28 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Eighty-seven clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. We also have six testing out of county, one is pre-trial, five are GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet), and 12 are on house arrest.
