Two Helena men are accused of stealing a vehicle and leading police on a chase into Jefferson County.

Jesse Charles Queen, 26, is being charged with robbery. James Donovan Allen, Jr., 24, is being charged with robbery, two counts of criminal endangerment and theft.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Feb. 7. On Feb. 12, that stolen vehicle was involved in an accident.

A witness reported that the accident occurred after he recognized the stolen vehicle and found a woman inside who was yelling for help. The witness told authorities the two men then rushed out of a nearby house, and all three began punching him. 

The witness said he was half-in and half-out of the car as Allen attempted to flee, and the victim fell out of the vehicle when his body struck an ATV near the scene. 

The two men then led police on a chase and were detained outside of Lewis and Clark County.

Allen admitted to stealing the vehicle a few days prior to the incident, according to court documents.
