A Helena man is accused of sending his former partner a text message threatening to kill her.

David Fife, 31, is being charged with intimidation and stalking.

Fife allegedly sent multiple text messages to his ex-partner while he was prohibited from contacting her. Fife was arrested in Gallatin County for partner or family member assault, burglary and stalking over the past nine months, all related to his ex-partner.

Fife threatened to kill his ex-partner multiple times through strangulation and torture, according to court documents. The documents say he also indicated he was going to kill her through emoji text messages sent to her family members.

Fife also threatened to kill himself, according to court documents.
