A 38-year-old parolee from Helena is accused of attempting to run a woman’s car off the road multiple times.
Dean Ostien Crider is being charged with a third offense of partner or family member assault, stalking and kidnapping.
An officer first made contact with the woman on Jan. 26, when a friend called the police to say Crider had been following her.
Earlier that day, Crider had allegedly followed the woman in his car and attempted to push her vehicle off the road multiple times, attempted to stop her by pulling in front of her vehicle and stopping, and attempted to push her into a ditch on the side of the road.
The woman told officers that a month earlier, Crider refused to let her out of a vehicle for two hours as she screamed and hit the door. The woman said she wasn’t sure what Crider would have done, but she feared he was going to shoot her, according to court documents.
