A 58-year-old Helena man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of his fifth DUI.

In addition to the felony DUI charge, Vernon Leppink is also charged with driving with a revoked license, a misdemeanor.

A deputy was dispatched to Deal Lane and York Road for a report of a vehicle that had slid off the road. The witness told dispatch the driver appeared intoxicated, according to court documents.

The deputy saw that Leppink's eyes were bloodshot and glassy and he was staggering, documents say. Leppink refused to do parts of the field sobriety test and was arrested after refusing to provide a breath sample.
