A 56-year-old Helena man is accused of stealing and pawning two of his mother’s gold rings.
William Brent Richards is being charged with felony theft.
A Helena police officer was called to investigate a call about rings being stolen from an elderly woman. Richards was immediately suspected as he had previously stolen family property and pawned it for his own financial gain, according to court documents.
The rings were worth over $2,000 together, according to court documents. A Helena police officer found the rings at Capital Jewelry and Loan where Richards allegedly pawned them for $190, according to court documents.
