At approximately 8:17 p.m. Monday, the Helena Police Department was dispatched to the 3200 block of Sanders Street for a report of a male pointing a rifle at another person.

"The caller advised he was driving in the area and got his vehicle stuck. When trying to get his vehicle out, the caller was confronted by another man who was staying in a camp trailer in the area. The man in the trailer then took out a rifle and pointed it at the caller and the passenger," Helena police said in a news release.

Officers created a perimeter in the area and contacted area businesses to advise them of the complaint. After a short time, officers located the male suspect and the rifle, which turned out to be a pellet rifle. The Helena-area suspect, identified as 58-year-old William Bagosy, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault with a weapon.

He was booked at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center with no bond.

The case is still actively being investigated, Helena police said late Monday.
