Two Helena residents were arrested in a church parking lot on New Year's Eve for allegedly possessing methamphetamine.
Bobbie Jean Powers, 44, and Gabriel David Ludden, 37, were charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, a sheriff’s deputy saw a car pull into a church parking lot and turn its lights off. The deputy conducted a stop and observed a hypodermic needle filled with a clear substance — which later tested positive for meth — in plain view.
The deputy also found a yellow container with a crystallized substance that tested positive for methamphetamine in the vehicle, according to court documents.
Both were booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.
