A 36-year-old Helena man stopped for not having an operable license plate light faces multiple charges including felony possession of dangerous drugs.
Marc Dylan Smith was stopped early Wednesday morning for the traffic violation. The arresting officer was then told by dispatch that the license plates were reported stolen, according to court documents.
Smith faces misdemeanor charges of habitual traffic offender, fictitious plates, driving while revoked and possession of stolen property.
Officers also learned that Smith had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
While being booked, authorities allege that he was found in possession of a small baggie containing methamphetamine, leading to a felony charge of possession of dangerous drugs.
