Police arrested a 27-year-old Helena man with three prior DUI convictions after finding him passed out behind the wheel early Wednesday morning.
Tal Holland Wolstein was found slumped over in the driver's side of a vehicle parked near Geddis and Highland streets, court documents state. Officers had been searching for Wolstein throughout the previous night and early morning as part of a welfare check.
The arresting officer said he woke Wolstein up and noticed a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. The keys were in the ignition, court documents note.
Wolstein submitted a breath sample, which resulted in blood alcohol content of nearly three times the legal limit, the documents state.
Police arrested Wolstein on a felony charge of driving under the influence.
