Officials say an inmate who was taken to the hospital after being found unconscious in jail pushed past a deputy standing guard and tried to flee.
Carlyn Sue Lewis, 43, faces a new charge of felony escape.
Court documents say Lewis was taken to the St. Peter's Hospital emergency room Friday after she was found unresponsive at the jail.
While undergoing medical treatment, Lewis told her guard she needed to use the restroom. Court documents say Lewis ran out the door to her room, trying to shove the deputy out of the way. The deputy grabbed Lewis by her clothing and tackled her to the ground.
Lewis was then handcuffed after further struggle, say documents filed Tuesday.
Lewis was originally jailed on a felony charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
