A Helena woman is accused of stealing a trailer worth more than $10,000.

Kendra Rae Cronholm, 23, is being charged with felony theft.

A 2018 Mirage trailer was stolen from a Helena business early in the morning on Oct. 30. On Nov. 3, a Lewis and Clark County sheriff’s deputy was contacted by the owner of the trailer saying he had located it outside someone's home, according to court documents.

The deputy used the serial number to verify that the trailer was the one that was stolen.

The homeowners said they were called by their former step-son, who asked to leave the trailer on the property for a few days, according to court records.

Helena police officers searched the trailer on Nov. 7, according to court documents.

The trailer's owner said the trailer had been empty before it was removed from the lot, but when officers opened the back they found a living room set, a bedroom set, appliances, mail bearing the name of Cronholm and the homeowners' former step-son, and checkbooks and a medical bracelet with Cronholm's name imprinted on them, according to court documents.

Cronholm was booked into Lewis and Clark County jail early Thursday morning.
