  • At 1:17 p.m. an officer took a report of a missing adult male. The 69-year-old Elliston male was later located and arrested for violating the terms of his probation. He was booked at the detention center.
  • At 5:33pm an officer responded to the 3300 block of Ptarmigan Lane and placed a 44-year-old Helena male into protective custody. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
  • At 4:55 p.m. an officer was called to investigate a theft from a residence in the 700 block of Elm Street. The victim reported an acquaintance had stolen property from her and pawned it at a local pawn shop. The officer later located the suspect – a 19-year-old Helena female – at another call for service. When questioned, she admitted to the theft. The female also had a valid felony warrant for her arrest.  She was arrested and booked on two counts of misdemeanor theft and the arrest warrant. She was booked at the detention center.
  • At 5:30 p.m. an officer was called to investigate a theft from a motor vehicle in the 1100 block of North Hannaford Street.

Dec. 6

  • At 2:43 a.m. officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 1300 block of Cedar Street. After arriving, officers located three males near the business and, after meeting with management, determined the business had been broken into. After investigation, officers arrested all three males in connection to the burglary. An 18-year-old Helena male was booked at the detention center and charged with one count of burglary (a felony). A 17-year-old Helena male was charged with underage possession of alcohol and burglary and a second 17-year-old Helena male was also charged with burglary. Both 17-year-olds were transported to the juvenile detention center in Great Falls.

As of Wednesday morning, the county jail held 89 inmates (79 for felonies and 10 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 112 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 33 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 29 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Ninty-three clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. We also have six testing out of county, one is pre-trial, seven are GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet) and 17 are on house arrest.
