  • At 12:37 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Cedar for a report of two individuals cutting a fence to a local business. A vehicle description was given and an officer located a matching vehicle. When the officer began following, the passenger of the vehicle fled. The officer was able to stop the vehicle and identify the driver. At the conclusion of the incident, the 20-year-old Helena man was arrested for criminal mischief, theft, possession of burglary tools, DUI, aggravated DUI, and underage possession of alcohol. He was booked into the LCSO jail. Investigation into locating the other suspect continues.
  • At 4:01 a.m., an officer responded to the 1400 block of Missoula Ave. for a report of a domestic situation. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 17-year-old juvenile male was cited for possession of dangerous drugs. He was referred to juvenile probation.
  • At 11:12 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Last Chance Gulch for a report of a disorderly male internal causing damage to the property. The suspect was identified and the case is active.
  • At 11:37 a.m., an officer responded to the 10 block of Lawrence for a report of individuals trespassing that had previously been trespassed from the property. The individuals, a 31-year-old Helena area male and a 37-year-old Helena area female, were both cited for trespassing. They were referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 1:09 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of Helena and Rodney for a report of a stolen bicycle.
  • At 3:31 p.m., an officer responded to the2700 block of Prospect for a report of a shoplift from a business. The 43-year-old Helena man was identified, and it was learned he had a valid warrant for his arrest. The man was arrested and taken to the LCSO jail. While he was there, drug paraphernalia was located on his person. The man was booked for the warrant, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • At 9 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Miller for a report of a theft. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 12-year-old female was cited for theft. She was referred to juvenile probation.

Sept. 10

  • At 12:21 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 11th and Montana. The male driver demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 17-year-old juvenile male was cited for DUI, underage possession of alcohol, graduated driver’s license violation, and improper turn. He was released to a parent and referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 1:41 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Last Chance Gulch for a report of a male trespassing. The male was previously trespassed from the property. The 36-year-old Helena-area male was located and cited for trespassing. He was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 10:02 a.m., an officer responded to the 1900 block of East Custer for a report of a male asleep in a running vehicle. The officer located and woke the male, who was demonstrating signs of impairment. The male driver was tested for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 32-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and probation violation. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
  • At 11:23 a.m., an officer responded to the area of Waukesha and Henderson for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. It was reported a vehicle was damaged to gain access and property was stolen from it. .
  • At 2:15 p.m., an officer responded to the 1700 block of Butte for a report of a theft of property from a vehicle.
  • At 3 p.m., an officer responded to the 1300 block of Highway Billings for a report of vandalism to a building. The case is active.
  • At 3:46 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Abbey for a report of a domestic altercation. One of the parties fled prior to law enforcement arriving. The case is active.
  • At 6:50 p.m., an officer responded to the 3200 block of Prospect for a report of a domestic altercation. One of the parties left the residence prior to Law Enforcement arrival. The case is active.

As of Monday morning, the county jail held 104 inmates (86 for felonies and 18 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 130 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 39 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 31 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Ninety-one clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. The county also has eight testing out of county, two are pretrial, one is GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet), and 10 are on house arrest.
