  • At 1:10 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Prospect for a report of a shoplift from a business. A male was reported to have consumed two alcoholic beverages in the store without paying for them. The 42-year-old Helena male was located near the store. He was cited for theft and referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 9:29 a.m., an officer responded to the 3200 block of Barbeau for a report of a violation of a restraining order. The investigation is on-going.
  • At 10:48 a.m., a School Resource Officer responded to 100 Valley Drive for a report of a juvenile in possession of tobacco. The juvenile male was cited for underage possession of tobacco and referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 11:20 a.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of Last Chance Gulch for a report of an internal theft from a business. The case is active.
  • At 12:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of Hudson for a report of a theft of belongings from a vehicle.
  • At 12:22 p.m., an officer responded to the 3000 block of Lyndale for a report of criminal mischief to a fence. The investigation is on-going.
  • At 12:34 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of North Last Chance Gulch to assist Probation and Parole. At the conclusion of the incident, a 30-year-old Helena man and a 33-year-old Helena woman were arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. They were both booked into the LCSO jail without bond.
  • At 1:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of Hudson for a report of a theft of belongings from a vehicle.
  • At 1:40 p.m., an officer responded to the 1500 block of Railroad or a report of a male in a vehicle smoking from a glass pipe. The male was located and investigated for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, a juvenile male was cited for DUI. His vehicle was impounded for further investigation. The juvenile male was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 1:53 p.m., an officer responded to the 400 block of South Park for a report of a stolen bicycle.
  • At 2:06 p.m., an officer responded to the 2900 block of Sanders for a report of a shoplift from a business. A 16-year-old juvenile was cited for theft. He was referred to juvenile probation.
  • At 3:27 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of 11th Avenue for a report of a male acting suspicious. The male was identified and it was learned he had an active warrant for his arrest. The 42-year-old Helena male was arrested for the warrant. While being booked into the LCSO jail, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with this as well.
  • At 4:11 p.m., an officer responded to the 2600 block of Montana Avenue for a report of a woman at that location with an active warrant. The female was located and advised of the warrant. The woman then attempted to flee on foot, but was taken into custody. The 20-year-old Helena woman was booked in on the warrant, obstructing a police officer, and resisting arrest.
  • At 4:31 p.m., an officer made contact with a complainant regarding an assault that occurred earlier on the 1200 block of Knight Street. The investigation is active.
  • At 6:39 p.m., an officer responded to the 1800 block of Prospect for a report of a theft of belongings from a vehicle.
  • At 10:08 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Belt View for a report of a physical altercation between two males. The males were located an identified. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 46-year-old Helena man was arrested for Partner or Family Member Assault. He was booked into the LCSO jail.

As of Saturday morning, the county jail held 99 inmates (85 for felonies and 14 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 157 inmates at various detention facilities.
