  • At 3:30 a.m. police responded to the 2900 block of Montana Avenue for a report of a possible assault that occurred. Officers met with the involved parties and could not verify an assault occurred.   
  • At 7:44 a.m. an officer responded to the 1500 block of Cedar for a report of a burglary to a business.
  • At 8:11 a.m. an officer responded to the Law Enforcement Center for a report of a forgery of personal checks. 
  • At 8:47 a.m. police responded to the 1400 block of Missoula for a report of a domestic disturbance. A 54-year-old East Helena man was arrested for partner or family member assault. 
  • At 9:10 a.m. an officer responded to the 300 block of State Street for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. It was reported several windows were shot out.  
  • At 11:18 a.m. a school resource officer responded to the 100 block of Valley Drive for a report of a student in possession of alcohol. A 17-year-old was cited for underage possession of alcohol.  
  • At 11:40 a.m. police responded to the 1000 block of Helena Avenue for a shoplifting at a business. 
  • At 1:41 p.m. an officer responded to the 200 block of Anderson Boulevard for a report of a burglary.
  • At 1:25 p.m. an officer responded to the 3000 block of North Montana Avenue for a report of a reckless driver. A 38-year-old Helena woman was arrested for DUI.  
  • At 3:11 p.m. officers responded to the 2400 block of Broadway for a report of a male trespassing and that he had assaulted an employee.  The 35-year-old Helena area man was located and arrested for the aforementioned charges. 
  • At 4:25 p.m. an officer responded to the 2300 block of Montana Avenue for a report of a theft of rented property. 
  • At 6:10 p.m. an officer responded to the 100 block of Custer Avenue for a report of a possible assault and violation of a no-contact order.  When the officer arrived, the involved parties had fled. 
  • At 8 p.m. an officer responded to the area of Broadway and Cooke for a report of a physical altercation between brothers. At the conclusion of the investigation, a boy was cited for partner or family member assault and referred to juvenile probation. 

As of Friday morning, the county jail held 79 inmates (71 for felonies and 8 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 112 inmates at various detention facilities. In addition, 41 are PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 30 are SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). 89 clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. We also have 8 testing out of county, 1 is pre-trial, 3 are GPS (Global Positioning System bracelet), and 6 are on house arrest.
