A 21-year-old Helena man faces a pair of felonies after allegedly striking a woman with a curling iron.

Marlon Tramell Crutchfield is charged with felony counts of assault with a weapon and partner or family member assault, third offense. He also faces a misdemeanor count of driving while suspended or revoked.

Deputies responded Wednesday to the report of a female who entered a business and said “she was scared for her life,” according to court documents. Crutchfield then allegedly came into the business searching for the victim.

The alleged victim reportedly told authorities that as she was trying to leave a residence, Crutchfield assaulted her. Later while driving in a vehicle, she alleges that he struck her with a curling iron multiple times, court documents say.

The arresting deputy notes that the alleged victim had visible injuries consistent with the account, court documents say.
