A 47-year-old Helena man was arrested on suspicion of breaking into a home, attempting to stop the occupant from calling 911, and being in possession of marijuana and a pipe when searched.
Joseph Troy Pennington is accused of breaking into a residence Monday evening.
A deputy responded to a residence on the 2300 block of Grove Drive after dispatch received a 911 call. During the call, dispatchers reported hearing a female screaming “Get out” and then stating that “she was in an altercation” with Pennington, according to court documents.
Pennington is accused of wrestling over the phone after she called 911 and taking it. When he was searched by a probation officer, authorities allege that they found marijuana and a pipe in his truck.
Pennington is facing a felony count of aggravated burglary, and misdemeanor counts of tampering with a communication device, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
