An East Helena man received a 10-year sentence to federal prison for drug dealing while armed.
Robert William Stubbins, 39, admitted to having guns while dealing methamphetamine and heroin in East Helena. The crimes went on from November 2016 to January, when authorities apprehended him while executing a search warrant at his home. During that time, Stubbins traded firearms for drugs and money.
Stubbins entered guilty pleas in April to conspiracy to possess with intent and to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Stubbins will be on five years of supervised release after prison.
The case was investigated by the Missouri River Drug Task Force, Helena Police Department, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI and the DEA Western Laboratory.
