For the second time in two days, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has announced the closure of another section of the Big Hole River to fishing.
Beginning Friday the river from Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadows Road to the mouth of the North Fork of the Big Hole River will be shut down to all angling to protect the streams fish.
This closure is mandatory when streamflows have fallen below 20 cubic feet per second. It will reopen when flows average above 40 cfs for seven consecutive days, but no later than Oct. 31.
The river from Notch Bottom fishing access site to the river’s confluence with the Beaverhead River was closed Thursday.
