Prayer breakfast, events set for May 4
The 66th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4. The 13th annual Helena Prayer Breakfast will be hosted at the Neighborhood Assembly of God Church, 725 Granite Ave. Breakfast is at 7 a.m., and the cost is $10. For more information, contact Rev. The program following the breakfast will be held at noon on the steps of the Capitol. A community-based coalition of leaders will hold an hour-long event that focuses on prayer. There will be music -- a prelude by musicians from Mountain Family Fellowship as well as “The Star-Spangled Banner” (Anna Milburn) and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic Medley” (Charmaine Lindgren), Solicitor General Dale Showengerdt will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Kris Hansen, chief legal counsel from the State Auditor’s Office will read our Governor’s Proclamation.
Coach Michael “Mick” Delaney, a native of Butte, will speak. He began his coaching career at Butte Central in 1964, culminating as the head coach as the Montana Grizzlies from 2012-2014.
