On Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 the wedding of Miss Kylie O’Bryant and Michael Rooff took place in Jacksonville, Florida, in Treaty Oak Park. The live oak tree centering the park is thought to be 250 years old and the oldest living thing in the area. Its huge branches, which sweep to the ground, easily enveloped the 60 attendees seated on a wooden platform beneath it.
Kylie was attended by her mother, Cassie O’Bryant of Helena, escorted by son, Blair O’Bryant of Atlanta, Georgia. Daryl O’Bryant of Nashville, Tennessee, gave his daughter away.
Kylie, a Helena High graduate, is a student at Florida State University, Jacksonville. Michael, a Jacksonville native, son of Michael and Peggy Rooff of Jacksonville, is in sales in the area.
A following supper reception was held at the 1904 Music Hall with dancing until midnight. Festivities were further enhanced by a celebration of the 21st birthday of younger sister, maid of honor Marissa O’Bryant of Kodiak, Alaska, on the same day.
There were O’Bryant cousins in attendance from North Carolina and New York City as well as Grandmother Bamby Roberts of Helena.
After a honeymoon cruise in the Cayman Islands, the couple is at home in Jacksonville.
