Happy Birthday to the Montana Historical Society — 153 years young this year!!! Hard to believe that the pioneers of Montana had the foresight to start this organization so early in our history to ensure that Montana’s beginnings and past were preserved for generations to come. We are very lucky to have this world class collection of artifacts plus all of the services of the MHS in Helena. Congratulations MHS and thanks for all you do! They recently launched an online exhibit that you can check out at www.montanahistoricalsociety.org .

Not far behind the Montana Historical Society, the Helena Chamber also has a long history! We officially became a chamber in 1890 — the first in Montana — however our roots started with the Helena Board of Trade in 1873. Pretty cool to think how progressive Helena business owners were back then!
